We first met in Méribel back in 1987 and between us have enjoyed more than 15 winter seasons in a variety of roles. Simon is a qualified ski instructor who spent the early nineties training and competing in freestyle mogul skiing.
Sonja has travelled extensively around the world, gaining valuable hospitality experience along the way.
After raising our family and running a thriving waterside pub and restaurant in Devon, we became empty-nesters in 2024 and followed our long-held dream of returning to our spiritual winter home. With lifelong backgrounds in hospitality and a shared passion for great food and welcoming guests, Méribel—and especially Chalet Himalaya—feels like the perfect fit for us once again.
