La Tania is nestled in a dense forest and gives the village a real picture postcard ambiance. La Tania is traffic free and has great facilities for children & beginners. The village has 4 ski hire shops, a tourist office, post office, bakery, tabac, newsagent, supermarket, 6 bars and 8 restaurants. There is live music most nights somewhere in the resort along with drinks promotions, après-ski happy hours and theme night parties taking place throughout the ski season. The village is linked to all the other Courchevel stations by an hourly free bus service.
Getting around
A free ski bus (a ski pass is no longer required) runs about every hour to Le Praz, Courchevel 1550, 1650 and finally 1850 (takes about 30 mins to 1850). This runs all day until around 10pm at night – timetable here.
La Tania Ski Area
La Tania is linked to the massive 3 valleys ski domain. From the resort centre you are two lifts away from either the Meribel or Courchevel ski areas.
There are three runs down into the resort. Folyeres is a roller coaster blue run straight down through the tress in to the resort centre. There is also a wide red run with a consistent gradient down to the gondola station in the village. There is also a green piste with a forgiving gradient which runs through the forest from the top gondola station down in to the resort which is ideal for beginner skiers.
There is a free drag lift and a short run for absolute beginners in the heart of the resort centre. For intermediate skiers, a day out over to the Val Thorens valley whilst experiencing the whole 3 valleys ski area en route is an absolute must.
